High 5's Teen Reviewers and Critics

Now Accepting Fall Applications!

Get on TRaC!

Love the arts? Love to write? Interested in experiencing the NYC arts world, learning from a professional arts critic and meeting world class artists - all for FREE? Apply for High 5's Teen Reviewers and Critics (TRaC) Program! TRaC gives rising sophomores, juniors and seniors in high school the opportunity to attend cutting edge theater, music events, dance performances, museums and a host of art galleries with a group of like-minded peers (read: open, adventurous, motivated) from all over NYC and NJ. Learn the art of discussion, experience the thrill of publication and master the ins and outs of the NYC subway system, all while improving your writing skills and tapping into all the arts NYC has to offer in every season.

There's something for everyone!
The TRaC program hosts 5 nine-week sessions during both the fall and spring and 2 five-week summer sessions. There are currently FIVE TRaC sections being offered this fall: Theater TRaC, Dance TRaC, Music TRaC, Visual Arts TRaC and Multi TRaC. Check out the TRaC FAQs for the tentative schedule.

Our four single discipline programs in Dance, Music, the Visual Arts and Theater require no specific background, just an open mind, enthusiasm and a desire to write. MultiTRaC is a little bit of everything, introducing arts-goers to dance, music, theater and the visual arts. High 5 partners with Dance Theater Workshop, The Public Theater, The Weill Institute at Carnegie Hall and The MAD Museum to bring you the best of the best in each discipline.

To request an application form or nominate a student, email Eric Ost, Program Director, with your mailing address and phone number. To learn more, join us for our TRaC Open Houses in February and September to meet TRaC alum and instructors. Or simply print out a Fall TRaC Application Form (now available!), complete everything and drop it off before the September 26th Deadline.

Publish your reviews at High 5!
Want to see free shows but don't have time for TRaC? Join the High 5 Freelance Corps. The Freelance Corps is open to anyone and everyone who wants to write and go to the arts for free! Here's the deal: Get two free tix to any High 5 event by writing a review of any performance or arts experience. 300-500 words is all it takes. We'll post your pontificating in our "Reviews" section for everyone to see. For more info send an email with the name of the show you'd like to see to Eric at eost@high5tix.org. To peruse the current Event Calendar, click here! You can also submit writing about non-High 5 arts for publishing.
